A single father in Green Brook, NJ is looking for a warm, calm, reliable, and structured nanny/family assistant who is experienced with school-age children to help care for his two daughters, ages 8 years old and 13 years old. The schedule is from Monday to Friday, 3PM - 9PM with flexibility for occasional late evenings and overnight coverage during work travel.

Dad travels once a month for about a week at a time.  Travel weeks will require expanded/overnight hours, including mornings, school drop-off/pick ups, dinner/bedtime, activity pickup/dropoff and overnight supervision.  Additional pay will be provided for this care.

During the summer, the schedule may include after-camp/evening hours, with some full-day coverage during non-camp weeks and work travel. Ability to travel with the family some days/week is preferred

Duties:

Duties for this position may include child-related and light family-assistant tasks such as school/activity transportation, school supply pickup, pharmacy pickup, returns/exchanges for children’s items, picking up organization supplies, managing kid-related deliveries, and helping with donations of outgrown clothes/toys with parent approval. Grocery shopping is not required, as groceries are ordered online.

Additional responsibilities include school pickup, homework support, meals/snacks for the kids, bedtime routine, kids’ laundry, keeping the kids’ rooms and playroom organized, helping the children learn life skills such as cleaning up, organizing belongings, preparing for school, and taking responsibility for their spaces.

Other household errands may involve doing laundry, vacuuming, and keeping the house organized. This is not a deep-cleaning or housekeeping role, but organization and light household support related to the children is important. Basic pet care may be requested, such as taking the dog out in the backyard, walking, playing with her occasionally, giving her food and water.
