Note from the founder
Over the last 15 years, I have had the pleasure of working in childcare. I have had the great pleasure and experience of meeting many different families from myriad backgrounds and cultures. I was able to see the many different approaches that people used that might seem similar to one another in regards to a problem or situation. At this phase in my life, I have met hundreds of children and I could tell you that at the root of every home there is love. The root of love is what makes me want to work in childcare every single day.
I understand the love that is shared between a parent and a child and a child and their caregiver. I understand the fear that parents have when they have to leave their children behind, whether it is for a few hours or for a couple of days at a time. The balance of keeping a home and running a home is not an easy task. I remember my mother taking on this duty and often times in my childhood she would bring up the phase “it takes a village.” As the owner of The Nanny Smith, it is my every day goal to make sure that whatever village we are helping you create is a safe and welcoming one so that your child will grow up to be strong.
My focus and belief in the community is that the world becomes a better place when we all work together. A part of my mission will not only be to help individual families build their village, but to fund-raise for great causes that might need our help. So whether you are a family looking for an extra member of your village, or you would like to find out how to become involved in the community as a whole, please feel free to reach out to me or anyone in the company at any given time.
Meet Nanny Felicia
I currently work as an assistant teacher in a preschool classroom for ages 4-5 years old. As a preschool teacher, I am a ten month employee with summers off, which leaves my schedule open. During the normal school year I am available after 4pm. In addition to working with preschool students, I have also worked extensively with toddlers ages 18 months-3 years old and school age children including middle school and special needs children. I love to read stories and do creative activities such as painting and drawing. I consider myself to be a very patient and caring individual and I feel I will be a great addition to your family!
Meet Nanny Emma
I’m a 29-year-old. I have loved working with children since I was young. I was always caring for my younger siblings and babysitting on the weekends. I started working as a nanny in 2008 for a single parent of a 5 year old boy and I worked for that family for five years. I also worked with another wonderful family, caring for a beautiful baby girl. I worked for that family for four years. I come from a big family and I have 3 beautiful sisters. I would love to find a family that I can grow with and care for. I love being able to help families with their loved ones. The reason I have chosen to be in the nanny profession over any other is because I love working with children and caring for them. It brings me happiness to know that I’m helping a family and helping kids learn and just enjoy being a kid. I have been serving in some form of childcare for over 9 years and can honestly say that I love what I do! I feel children are happy and easy to work with. Children always bring a smile to my face. My goal as a nanny is to grow with a beautiful family and help parents as best I can by caring for their loved ones as well as keeping their homes tidy while they are busy with work. Helping children with homework, taking children to their daily activities and just simply enjoying their childhood is part of the joy of being a nanny. I am willing to do housekeeping that includes laundry, washing dishes, cleaning up after family pet, sweeping, mopping, dusting. If I had to describe myself in five adjectives I would say that I am friendly, devoted, loving, dependable and reliable. Activities that I would like to incorporate in the daily plan for the family I care for would include taking children to the park and outside activities, as well as the library, zoo, or any activities the family feels would be best! If asked to describe the perfect family seeking a nanny like me, I would hope they would be friendly and loving.
