A family in Martinsville, NJ is looking for an engaged and patient nanny to help care for their 1-year-old son. The family is also looking for someone who can switch between the responsibilities of nanny and mother’s helper.
The schedule is flexible for best fit. Ideally, the family is seeking 3 to 5 days a week, from the hours of 12 pm to 6 pm (18 to 30+ hours a week). The number of days and hours is based on the best candidate for this household.
Someone with the flexibility for occasional overnight care and weekend date nights would be appreciated.
Duties:
While the nanny’s primary duty is caring for the child, additional duties may include: family laundry, ironing, vacuuming, loading/emptying the dishwasher, grocery shopping, basic tidying after the child, cleaning the entire home, and cooking for the child only, if there is not already food prepared. Helping with organization such as: organizing and rotating toys, packing diaper bag, cleaning up toys, general organizing from time to time.
Ideal nanny:
The ideal nanny for this home is someone who is patient, nurturing, and engaging and can switch between the responsibilities of a nanny and mother’s helper. Someone who can clean and maintain the home but can also jump in to take care of the baby if Mom steps out for the gym or errands. The family is looking for someone who can keep up with their active 14-month-old, and has their license. An individual with experience in sleep training and potty training would be appreciated. The ideal nanny has the ability to play and work on developmental activities, maintain daily schedules, routines and has childcare skills (diaper changes/baths/dressing babies/preparing bottles and feeding). Bachelor’s degree is a plus but not required.
About the children:
This 1-year-old is social, active, giggly, strong, and persistent. He does not currently walk but may be walking by the time a nanny is placed.
About the parents:
Mom is the homemaker and is friendly, loving, introverted, organized and particular with cleanliness. Dad is ambitious, empathic, strong-willed, systematic, and has high expectations. These parents don’t have a discipline structure established yet because their child is still young.
