A family in Hopewell, NJ is seeking a mature, temporary Nanny or Manny to join the existing household staff and care for their 10-year-old twins. The typical schedule is, ideally, six days per week, from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm and then again from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The family is flexible regarding which day of the week may be designated as a day off.
Duties include:
Engaging the children with arts and crafts, reading, games, bike rides, and visiting the farm animals on the property. Preparing healthy, plant-based lunches and snacks for the children and washing dishes. Doing laundry. Keeping the children’s belongings organized and their rooms tidy. Closing bedroom doors so the dog does not chew or eat items in the rooms. At night, supervising showers / teeth brushing and creating a relaxing environment where children can share about their day, their hopes, their plans, etc. Occasionally assisting with household errands, cooking for the family, caring for the dog and cats, or driving the children if other staff is not available.
Ideal nanny:
The ideal caregiver for this family is a safe, reliable non-smoker who is comfortable working with pets. They can prepare healthy food for the children and, occasionally, the family. Looking for someone with a reliable vehicle and excellent organizational and communication skills. The ideal caregiver is attentive to instructions, will follow a schedule consistently, and can operate without frequent reminders. A college degree is a plus but not required.
About the children:
Twin #1 is intelligent, kind, academically inclined, athletic, and adventurous. She has a strong enthusiasm for learning across all subjects and is a diligent student. Her after-school activities include writing lessons and playing the violin. She enjoys reading, participating in sports, archery, and swimming.
Twin #2 is courteous, helpful, intelligent, and adventurous, with a particular interest in math and science. His after-school activities include playing the violin and attending writing lessons. He also enjoys archery, swimming, and reading.
About the household:
Mom is an artist and photographer and has an unpredictable schedule. She is loving, kind, and very understanding of the needs of others.
The children generally get along well and exhibit good behavior. Discipline primarily involves discussing specific behaviors that require improvement and explaining the reasons for expected changes in conduct.
