More details:
A family in Springfield is looking for a creative, animal-loving nanny to take care of their two children, a newborn (1 month old) and a 4-year-old. The family is looking for a caregiver to start as soon as possible. The schedule is as follows:
Between now and the end of the school year, care will be for the after-school hours primarily from 3pm - 6pm. Starting in July, the nanny will be needed 4 days a week, from 8am-6pm, likely from Tuesday to Friday. Flexibility regarding this schedule is appreciated as parents are waiting to confirm Mom’s work schedule in the meantime.
These parents are still deciding if the infant will go into daycare in March depending on the fit with the nanny. If they decide to go with daycare, care hours may alter slightly a couple days a week. If not, hours will remain the same with the addition of household management duties.
Duties:
Doing the children’s laundry. Basic tidying after children. Basic meal preparation (reheating/preparing something that was already made). Preparing afterschool snacks is expected. Cooking is a plus, but not required.
Ideal nanny:
The ideal nanny is a creative, sociable individual who is able to maintain clear, strong boundaries with the oldest child. This family is looking for someone who can love the kids as one of their own. The candidate is outgoing and can keep the kids engaged while the parents are at work. This is a family that greatly values open communication and someone who can adhere to the parents’ discipline guidelines and earn the respect of the children.
About the children:
This 4 year old is sweet, smart, funny , strong-willed, deeply-feeling. He loves reading, trucks, dinosaurs, music, muppet babies, arts and crafts. Parents suspect that he may possibly have ADHD but has not yet been diagnosed. His after-school activities include music and karate.
The newborn was born in April and is a good sleeper and eater.
About the household:
These parents are routine-oriented individuals who run a business together. Dad is thoughtful, detail-oriented, analytical, empathic and a good-planner. Mom is caring, driven, and thoughtful. They are understanding, welcoming and interested in learning and welcoming a nanny into their home. They like going on family adventures like hiking and visiting the shore. These parents like making a connection with the nanny. The discipline structure for this household follows firm boundaries. They have expectations for their children but also allow space for understanding the children’s feelings. If there is continued disobedience or acting out, the parents will remove a privilege (ex. losing TV time, losing a book at night, etc).
Benefits:
Salary plus paid vacation days off, paid holidays off, paid sick days off, and paid personal days off.
Position Code: G595SP
