Position Description: 

Family in West Orange is seeking a full-time, live-out nanny to care for their 1-year-old son. Care will ideally begin in August, but this date is flexible for the right fit. 

Hours:

Monday to Friday, for typically 60 hours per week. 
Start time is 6:30 am, and the end time will vary from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. 
Schedules will be provided months in advance for nanny’s convenience. 
Typically, 2 to 3 days per week will end at 7:30 pm.

Duties:

Primary duty is to provide loving care to a toddler, taking him on safe walks and remaining attentive to him at all times. Looking for someone to help with child’s laundry and dishes and to cook meals for him. 

Ideal Caregiver:

The ideal caregiver is attentive and loves toddlers. She has excellent communications skills and is dedicated to creating a safe, patient, and positive environment. She is creative and can come up with engaging activities.

Details:

Family in Summit is looking for a full-time nanny starting as soon as possible for their 2-year-old. The typical schedule is from 9/9:30 am to 5/5:30 pm (flexible). Currently, both parents work from home but may transition back to working out of the home (once conditions are safer), in which case Nanny’s hours would change to 8:15 am to 6:00 pm.  Looking for someone to make a minimum one-year commitment (or more).  

Nanny MUST be someone who is honest and also strict regarding social distancing-no outside contact.  Nanny must take strict precautions if going to grocery store. At-risk grandparent who lives alone visits the child.  Family also promises to be transparent and honest about safety concerns.

Ideal nanny:

Looking for a nanny who is loving and caring and who can fulfill the dual role of educator and playmate. Daycare or teaching background a plus. 

 

Looking for someone who is engaging and makes education fun! Someone who is creative and willing to do fun things like science experiments, art projects, and imaginative play.  Someone who can continue to potty train and can establish routines such as a consistent nap schedule. We would like Nanny to help our daughter with general development and basic skills, including identifying number, shapes, etc. Someone who will read aloud, sing songs, and dance. Our ideal nanny is loving, caring, creative, and patient.

Duties include:

Meal preparation for child, child's laundry, and basic tidying up after child (dishes and toys).  Willingness to clean household dishes is a bonus but not required.


About the child:

Child is two years old and is social, loving, clever, kind, and energetic. She loves science and art projects, imaginative play, dolls, dancing, singing, and playing in our backyard.

Discipline structure includes redirecting tantrums (typically because of tiredness) or giving her time to work them out, encouraging her to use her words when she is upset, and explaining to her what we do when she's upset. She is generally a happy, easygoing toddler.  


About the family:

Parents are loving, caring, and place a high priority on education.  They do not like extreme  discipline styles. The home has two dogs (Welsh Terrier and Springer Spaniel mix), and nanny will occasionally be asked to let the dogs out in the backyard to use the bathroom during office hours if parents are unable.
